FAQ

Below you will find some of our most frequently asked questions. If you don't see what you are looking for, just click the bubble at the bottom right and ask!

What is SufferBuddy?

SufferBuddy connects you with patients or care groups who can help you figure out how to deal with your condition. Matches are made based on the following user selectable criteria: Condition, Age, Gender, When Diagnosed, Location, and other interests.

In addition, we compile user generated content and use it as another way to find tips and tricks.

The goal is to show you all of your options - and compile all resources into one place.

Who is SufferBuddy for?

SufferBuddy is for everyone who deals with some sort of chronic issue, including family and friends of patients, who want to learn more about how to better their lives. This can span far more than you would think. We cater to widely known conditions such as diabetes, but also much more obscure ailments like Interstitial Cystitis.

Who do I get to talk to? What is a Mentor?

SufferBuddy is a community of Peers. Mentors are simply people that have dealt with the condition before and want to help(Patient, Family Member, etc). These mentors fill out a more extensive profile so that we can better match them to your needs.

How is this different than Facebook groups?

I'm glad you asked! There are a number of key differences. The first is that SufferBuddy is default anonymous. Facebook groups tend to have only a few people contributing and a lot of "lurkers" due to privacy concerns. SufferBuddy is meant to be a safe space. In addition, we focus on 1-1 connections. You are not sharing your information with the whole world!

Can I learn without talking to people?

Yes! We have a section on the app dedicated to surfacing all the great tips and tricks that our users are finding. Everything from a specific brand of food for those with sensitivities to specific doctor recommendations.

I love (or hate) what you are doing. How do I let you know my thoughts?
